Not another screen for kids.
Paper learning made
responsive, diagnostic, supportive.
Future Textbook — a handwriting-first, low-distraction, teacher-controlled AI learning system.
Launched by a founding team with deep roots in education. Pilot program now open.
Why now
The classroom trilemma
Tabletsdistraction
Notifications and entertainment slice attention apart.
Paperno feedback
Trusted and focused — but feedback never arrives in time.
Open AI chatno guardrails
Answers everything, with no one guarding the classroom.
E-paper with on-device AI opens a middle path between paper and tablets: focused like paper, feedback in the moment, scope set by the teacher.
The world has asked what the textbook of the future should be for twenty years. The technology is finally ready.
What is Future Textbook
A workbook that understands learning
Future Textbook is a handwriting-first, low-distraction, teacher-controlled AI learning system — upgrading workbooks, notebooks, and worksheets into AI Learning Workbooks that respond, diagnose, and support.
Low-distraction
Paper-like reading, no entertainment pull, weeks of battery — giving classroom attention back to learning itself.
Trustworthy
Privacy-first, data minimization, offline-capable, enabled and switchable by teachers — so parents and schools can relax.
AI personalization
Curriculum-limited hints and error diagnosis. Hints, not answers — AI that assists teachers, never replaces them.

AI governance commitments
Six principles, written for parents and schools
If AI enters the classroom, guardrails enter first. These six principles are design premises, not afterthoughts.
- 01Teachers enable it — never on by default
- 02Curriculum-limited — no open-ended chat
- 03Data minimization
- 04On-device or on-campus processing first
- 05Traceable, auditable, and can be switched off
- 06AI never replaces the teacher's judgment
Use cases

About us
A new venture born from public-interest education
Future Textbook is driven by a founding team with deep roots in Taiwan's education sector: more than a decade running an online learning platform serving millions of learners, and hands-on deployment experience with schools across the country. That work convinced us the next step isn't more screens — it's better paper.
Our vision: every child owns a textbook that understands how they learn.
FAQ
FAQ
How is this different from a tablet?
It isn't another screen: paper-like display, no entertainment pull, weeks of battery, designed purely for reading and writing. The goal is to give attention back to learning.
Will AI replace teachers?
No. AI gives hints — never answers — and only within the material a teacher has enabled and scoped. Grading and pedagogical judgment always stay with the teacher.
You're called “Future Textbook” — are you replacing textbooks?
No. The name points at the question we want to answer: what should the textbook of the future look like? Our first products are AI Learning Workbooks — a digital upgrade of workbooks, notebooks, and worksheets that runs alongside existing teaching materials.
Is my child's data safe?
Data minimization, on-device or on-campus processing first, and AI responses that are traceable and can be switched off. See our privacy policy and governance commitments for details.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Core reading, writing, and homework flows work offline or in low-connectivity environments — built for rural and mobile settings.
What does a pilot require from us?
One subject, one grade, 8–12 weeks. Devices, software, materials, and teacher training all come in the bundle — your school contributes the classroom and the feedback.
We're a company. How do we partner?
All four layers are open to collaboration: devices and display technology, chips and edge AI, classroom software, content publishing and distribution. Share your idea through the partnership form.
How is it priced?
During the pilot phase, bundles (device + software + content + services) are scoped case by case. A proposal follows the needs interview.
